Nicola Chiaromonte is the current owner of Tenute Chiaromonte. It is a family estate located in Acquaviva delle Fonti in Puglia. There are about 60 ha of vineyards and olive groves under management. Nicola believes very strongly in the authenticity of the region. Situated on a plateau of 300 to 400 m, one enjoys a refreshing breeze that cools down the vineyards.

Since the end of the 90s, Nicola Chiaromonte is considered one of the best Primitivo winemakers. He produces a fantastic line of authentic wines based on the Primitivo grape. From the basic Primitivo IGP, over the Elè, the Muro Sant’Angelo and the Contrada Barbatto to the Riserva.

The absolute crowning achievement came in 2017. The Muro Sant’Angelo Contrada Barbatto 2013 was voted the best Italian red wine in the Gambero Rosso. This wine has continuously achieved the highest award in the form of Tre Bicchieri since the 2010 vintage.

Tenute Chiaromonte also produces a very aromatic fresh white wine, the Kimia Fiano. For this, the autochthonous Fiano Minutolo grape is used.
