Poggerino is a certified organic family estate located in Radda in Chianti, one of the most prestigious villages within the Chianti Classico DOCG. Situated between 350 and 500 metres above sea level, winemaker Piero Lanza focuses primarily on Sangiovese, combining sustainable vineyard practices with minimal intervention in the cellar.
The high-altitude vineyards, galestro and alberese soils and the cool microclimate produce wines with remarkable elegance, vibrant freshness and distinctive minerality. The estate’s Chianti Classico and Chianti Classico Riserva Bugialla have long been recognised as benchmarks of the appellation and have received numerous accolades from leading Italian wine guides.
Poggerino also produces the distinctive Chianti Classico Nuovo, fermented and aged in a concrete egg. This unique winemaking technique enhances texture, freshness and purity, allowing the character of Sangiovese to shine without the influence of oak.
The Primamateria Toscana IGT, an elegant blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese, together with the gastronomic Rosato Aurora, perfectly reflects the estate’s philosophy: authentic wines that express the unique terroir of Radda in Chianti.
