The Giovine family has made wine in Piedmont since 1850. In 1988, Ignazio Giovine took over the family vineyards and founded L’Armangia together with his wife Giuliana. In the Piedmontese dialect, the name suggests a comeback or new beginning, reflecting their ambition to restore Canelli’s reputation as an important wine region.
Today, L’Armangia manages more than 10 hectares of vineyards in Canelli, Moasca and San Marzano Oliveto. The hilly limestone and clay soils provide excellent conditions for Moscato and Barbera.
Alongside Canelli DOCG Moscato d’Asti and several white wines, L’Armangia produces distinctive Barbera d’Asti and Nizza DOCG. Nizza Titon and Nizza Riserva Vignali are the highlights of the range: powerful yet elegant wines made exclusively from Barbera, offering ripe fruit, vibrant acidity and excellent ageing potential.
