The 2021 Primamateria is a bold and layered wine, made primarily from Merlot, with Sangiovese. It shows a deep, dark colour and a rich aromatic profile of dark fruit, mocha, liquorice, spices, and a touch of espresso.
On the palate, it’s powerful yet refined, with a perfect balance between intense fruit, bright acidity, and a firm but elegant structure. Aged for two years in 500-litre barrels, 30% of which were new, it gains subtle oak notes and a silky finish.
A remarkable wine from Piero Lanza, combining Bordeaux-like depth with Tuscan finesse.

The 2021 Primamateria, mostly Merlot , with some Sangiovese, is fabulous. Dark fruit, mocha, licorice, spice and espresso all saturate the palate. The interplay of intense fruit, bright acids and structure is nothing short of compelling. This spent two years in 500-liter barrels, 30% new. It’s a tremendous wine from Piero Lanza and Poggerino.
