Orlando Abrigo’s Barbaresco Meruzzano 2022 is an elegant Barbaresco that brings together Nebbiolo’s refinement and structure. The grapes grow in the Meruzzano cru in Treiso, on slopes between 380 and 449 metres above sea level. Made entirely from Nebbiolo, it combines expressive fruit with floral nuances and lively freshness.

The bouquet reveals ripe cherries, rose petals and orange peel, complemented by subtle hints of spice and tobacco. Full and juicy on the palate, it offers firm, beautifully integrated tannins. Fruit, acidity and structure work together to create a wine with both energy and elegance.

Following around twenty to twenty-five days of skin contact, the wine matures in 500-litre French oak tonneaux. Further rest in bottle allows its different elements to come together. The result is a characterful red that can also benefit from a few years in the cellar.

At the table, Meruzzano pairs beautifully with braised beef, roast lamb or game. Mature cheeses are another excellent option. Serve at around 18°C in a generously sized glass and allow some air to help its bouquet unfold.
