Muro Sant’Angelo Contrada Barbatto

Muro Sant’Angelo Contrada Barbatto

The Muro Sant’Angelo Contrada Barbatto 2020 from Tenute Chiaromonte is a prestigious Primitivo wine from the Gioia del Colle region in Puglia, Italy. Produced in limited quantities from old vines, this wine offers remarkable complexity and depth. It displays a deep ruby red color and reveals rich aromas of ripe wild berries, coffee beans, hazelnuts, and dried blood orange peel, with subtle smoky notes. On the palate, it unfolds layers of cranberry compote, a compact and layered structure, with a deep, long finish and delicate salty nuances.

Made from 100% Primitivo grapes, the Muro Sant’Angelo Contrada Barbatto 2020 has an alcohol content of 16.5%. It undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by six months of aging in steel, eighteen months in large wooden barrels, and six months in the bottle. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 330 meters above sea level in the area of Acquaviva delle Fonti, with limestone-rich soils.

This exceptional wine, awarded each year with Tre Bicchieri by Gambero Rosso, pairs perfectly with rich dishes such as game, grilled red meats, and aged cheeses. Its refined character and elegant taste make it a must-have for wine enthusiasts.
