Located in the picturesque southeast of Sicily, Valle dell’Acate has a long tradition of producing wines of exceptional quality. Their passion for the land and respect for their ancestors’ winemaking techniques are reflected in every bottle they produce.
This unique region is known for its ideal climate and fertile soil, resulting in wines steeped in the unmistakable Sicilian terroir. Valle dell’Acate combines ancient traditions with modern innovation, enabling them to create wines of excellence that reflect the true essence of this beautiful island. The estate is certified organic and all wines are produced with respect for the environment and local traditions.
Founded by Giuseppe Jacono in the late 19th century, the winery is currently run by the sixth generation of the Jacono family.
We would like to introduce you to some of the main Valle dell’Acate wines we have added to our range:
Il Frappato – Made from the indigenous Frappato grape, this elegant red wine offers an enticing blend of red berries, floral notes and a refined spiciness. It is a perfect companion for light dishes and to enjoy on its own.
Cerasuolo di Vittoria – A beautiful red wine resulting from the unique combination of Frappato and Nero d’Avola grapes. It reveals a vibrant ruby red colour, enticing aromas of cherries and berries, and a harmonious palate with soft tannins. It is an excellent choice to accompany grilled meats and aged cheeses. Moreover, it is also Sicily’s only DOCG wine.
Zagra Grillo – Made from the Grillo grape, this white wine enchants with its refreshing citrus aromas, floral notes and a delicate minerality. Zagra is perfect to enjoy on hot summer days and pair with fish dishes and salads.
Il Moro – This prestigious red wine is made from Nero d’Avola. With its deep ruby red colour, intense aromas of ripe fruit, spicy nuances and velvety tannins, Il Moro is a true taste sensation. Perfect with roasted meats, game dishes and mature cheeses.
Bellifolli – The Bellifolli range consists of a selection of single-varietal wines, each with their own distinctive characteristics. Discover the Bellifolli Nero d’Avola with its rich blackcurrant aromas and spicy hints, or enjoy the refreshing Bellifolli Insolia with its fresh citrus aromas, delicate floral notes and a hint of exotic fruit. These wines are versatile and can be paired with a wide range of dishes.
