Sauvignon d’Amblé
Sauvignon d’Amblé
Orlando Abrigo’s Sauvignon d’Amblé reveals the aromatic side of Piedmont. Made from Sauvignon Blanc, this white wine combines expressive aromas with a pleasantly rounded palate and refreshing balance. The estate is based in Treiso, among the hills of the Langhe, where Giovanni Abrigo continues his family’s winemaking tradition.
Straw yellow in the glass, it opens with citrus and fruity aromas, complemented by the distinctive herbal character of sage. The palate is supple and harmonious, with enough body to make it an appealing companion to food.
Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the grape’s aromas. The wine then rests on its fine lees, which are stirred regularly. This contributes to its rounded texture while keeping the fruit at the centre of the experience.
Enjoy d’Amblé as an aperitif or pair it with pan-fried fish, shellfish or a herb risotto. A salad with fresh goat cheese also makes a lovely match. Serve at around 10–12°C in a generously sized white wine glass, allowing its aromas to unfold.
