Vineyards of Tenute Chiaromonte

This week, we present a new top white wine from Puglia from the Tenute Chiaromonte wine estate.

Nicola Chiaromonte is the current owner of Tenute Chiaromonte. It is a family estate located in Acquaviva delle Fonti in Puglia. There are about 60 ha of vineyards and olive groves under management. Nicola believes very strongly in the authenticity of the region. Located on a plateau of 300 to 400 metres, the vineyards enjoy a refreshing breeze that cools them down.

The Kimia Fiano from Chiaromonte has a brilliant straw yellow colour with green reflections. It is made from the indigenous Fiano Minutolo grape. This is an aromatic grape that practically disappeared at the end of the last century. Since 2000, however, the grape has been making an impressive comeback in the Valle d’Itria. Fiano Minutolo is also used for sparkling wines as a mono concentrate. The Kimia Fiano has aromas of citrus fruits, white flowers and herbs. It comes across as powerful in the mouth, where the fruit impressions predominate. There is also a pleasant mineral tightness with nice acidity that makes the wine seem energetic. Long finish. Combine with shellfish, seafood and fish dishes.

In addition to the Kimia Fiano, we were also allowed to receive delivery of the latest vintage of the Primitivo Elè. The 2019 Elè is a full-bodied, balanced wine with a very pleasant freshness. As of this vintage, it is also offered in a new bottle.

Finally, we also present the Muro Sant’Angelo Contrada Barbatto 2017. Since 2010, this primitivo blockbuster has continuously achieved the highest award in the form of Tre Bicchieri in Gambero Rosso (Italy’s most important wine guide). Enjoy now a 10% discount on these wines. The promotion runs until the end of April.
