Verduzzo Friulano Cratis

Verduzzo Friulano Cratis

The Verduzzo Friulano Cratis comes from vineyards with south and east exposition. The perfectly harvested grapes are laid out to dry for 3 months on a grid with north-east exposition (the Bora wind ensures this). Just before Christmas, the grapes are pressed and fermentation starts in partly new and partly used barrels (50/50). Starting and stopping the fermentation after about 1 month is done by a unique system of heating/cooling the barrels.

The wine has an intense amber colour. Very complex nose with numerous aromas: acacia honey, walnut, vanilla, dried flowers, fig, citrus, caramel,…

In the mouth, very full wine with tannin impression. Contains 200g residual sugar.

This wine is praised as one of the best sweet wines in Italy.

Meditation wine or combine with foie gras, mouldy cheeses.
