The Brunello di Montalcino 2020 from Tenuta di Sesta is a classic and elegant expression of Sangiovese from a nuanced vintage. Rain before summer preserved freshness, while rainfall just before harvest added tension and structure.

In the glass, it shows a light cherry-red colour with subtle brick hues. The bouquet opens slowly, revealing dried rose petals, strawberries and a gentle dusting of spice, complemented by hints of light toast and coffee. On the palate, an elegant wave of ripe red and blue fruits unfolds, maintaining a juicy core. The wine is fresher than the 2019, with edgy yet juicy tannins that gradually build toward a spicy finish marked by a touch of sour cherry. Still not fully in balance, it shows clear ageing potential.
