Barolo del Comune di La Morra

90/100

The Barolo del Comune di La Morra by Andrea Oberto is made from 3 different vineyards in La Morra. The wine matures for 24 months in large Slavonian barrels (25hl) followed by 2 months inox and 6 months bottle aging.

The Barolo 2017 has a light intense garnet red colour with slight evolutionary edge. In the nose we discover mainly black cherries, tobacco, leather and earthy notes. The Barolo 2017 is a juicy, fleshy wine that presents itself young already very drinkable with its nicely balanced acids and pleasant tannins. A top wine to enjoy over the next 10 years.

Combine with meat dishes, game, truffle.

A soft, fleshy wine

Rated by Vinous on 15/01/2021

The 2017 Barolo del Comune di La Morra is a soft, fleshy wine to drink now and over the next handful of years. Black cherry, tobacco, licorice, leather and spice are nicely pushed forward. All the 2017 needs is a bit of time to shed some of its youthful tannin.
