Tenuta di Sesta is located in the southern part of the municipality of Montalcino between Sant’Angelo in Colle and Castelnuovo dell’Abate, near the well-known Romanesque abbey of Sant’Antimo, on slopes ranging from 200 to 400 metres above sea level. These soils are considered the most suitable for the production of Brunello di Montalcino due to their special location. The first bottles of Brunello were produced by Giuseppe Ciacci, father of the current owner Giovanni, who now manages the family estate together with his children Andrea and Francesca. They own about 200 hectares of which 30 hectares are dedicated to winegrowing. The rest consists of olive trees and arable land. Tenuta di Sesta is considered one of the historic estates in the territory of Montalcino.
